6 Roulette Cheaters Caught 14.08.2012

Several new land-based casinos have recently opened their doors in the US state of Ohio. While many of the patrons are visiting the casinos to have a bit of fun and hopefully walk out with a fatter wallet, others have more sinister intentions and some even took their plans and turned them into actions. Some cheaters get away with their actions but not the 6 roulette cheats from Ohio.

Casino cheats often target newly opened venues in the hopes that because the staff is new they are also untrained and lack experience when it comes to identifying cheaters or those trying to cheat. Six individuals assumed wrong about the staff at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, Ohio and they are now facing 29 Conspiring to Cheat felony counts. Agent Doug St Clair explained that the six men “stole non-denominational chips from the game and later re-introduced them at a higher value and then would cash out shortly thereafter.” Each count has a maximum term of 1 year in prison and a fine of up to $2,500.

The six out of state men, all in their mid-20s to mid-30s, were arrested by agents from the Ohio Casino Control when the casino’s surveillance team caught the “organized roulette scam” that had taken place during the 2 days. The acts of cheating were then confirmed to be true thanks to the nearly 1000 video surveillance cameras that monitor every inch of the casino floor.

Others who are thinking about trying to run a roulette scam at any of the Ohio casinos should think twice since St Clair said:”All the gaming agents assigned to this casino…have received over 60 hours of training to identify cheaters within the casino.”
