They say “the house always wins” which is generally true, though if that was the law, gamblers wouldn't have been chasing luck and trying to win a fortune.

They invent strategies and tricks to lure the easy money and wish they could have an insider at a casino to help them win.

Robert Valle, a former roulette dealer at Meadows Casino in Washington, Pennsylvania, could be a treasure find for a gambler that dreams about cheating at a roulette table.

Rudy, as he is usually addressed to, is facing charges in conspiracy and using illegal methods to win a bet after he got caught for telling a gambler about his lucky number and that he will try to hit it for the client.

Valle is trying to explain himself by saying that what he told the gambler was a standard customer service that is practiced in every casino.

The experts say that it is impossible to guide an honest roulette which adds doubts to the assumption that Valle was trying to help his client win.

The sources state:

Court documents say a confidential informant recorded Valle telling customers he could help them win at roulette. If they bet on 4 and the numbers near it on the roulette wheel, he would aim the ball for that section of the wheel, according to the complaint. Although many dealers claim to be able to hit a specific group of numbers, it’s impossible to do with an honest wheel, say Charles R. Mousseau of Total Gaming Science in Winnipeg, Canada, and Bill Zender, one-time director of casino operations at the Aladdin in Las Vegas and author of two “Casino-ology” books about managing casino games.

Valle is lucky to have his colleagues at his back - none of them thinks that he did anything wrong.

“This is going to affect how (police) treat every employee in the gaming industry,” Meadows pit manager Danny Gillies told in an interview: “If they were to win, which I can’t believe they will, we’re all puppets at that point. They can come after us at any time for anything.”

Valle defended himself by saying: “When somebody comes up and asks what your number is, customer service is you’re supposed to tell them. What am I supposed to do — tell them to go to the Rivers [a competing casino] and maybe they can hit your number? Put your money down. I can try to hit your number. There’s no guarantee.”
