Roulette Low-Rollers Welcomed in Atlantic City 25.03.2012

It is hard for Americans not to feel the daily wrath of the economic slump. Generally, Americans have had to downsize their day-to-day lives and cut back on luxuries like holiday vacations and quick getaway trips.

Most of what fuels the Atlantic City economy stems from domestic tourism which is now at all all-time low for the ocean-side city. In contrast to this, Las Vegas has just reported that recent gambling revenues have increased due to wealthy Asian tourists ringing in the Chinese New Year at casino tables up and down the Strip. Las Vegas, whose economy has taken somewhat of a hit, has a hold on many other foreign tourists since it is generally a popular destination and this fact has kept it afloat.

However, one hotel in particular is trying to lure back domestic tourism by offering unbeatable hotel rates. After trying unsuccessfully for two years to sell the Hilton Hotel in Atlantic City, the owners decided to invest a whopping $24.3 million and rename it The Atlantic Club Hotel and Casino.

The Atlantic Club recently made news headlines as it is now offering its elegantly decorated rooms for an astonishing rate of $19 per night Sunday through Thursday but this rate is temporary.

Permanent changes can be found on the casino floor. The modifications started with their slots being replaced with mostly new penny machines. They have produced new 25 cent and 50 cent chips but most significantly they have taken table minimums to a new low. Players can bet as little as $5 for blackjack and $3 for craps. Roulette players can bet as little as $2 which helps the bankroll, and the fun, last longer!

Focusing attention on low-rollers may be just what the city needs. Americans are taking their time when it comes to spending money on vacations and in the casino. But an offer like this one from Atlantic Club it may prove to be too hard to resist.
