Unibet Group PLC is off to a great start as the 1st quarter of the year comes to a close. Many different aspects have attributed to the financial success of the company and it looks like the rest of the year will continue to see growth.

In 2011, net profits for Unibet Group PLC’s 1st quarter totaled GBP 10.2 million and this year the January to March net profits are up to GBP 10.76 million. Active membership has risen more than 75,000 and is now over 403,000.

Henrik Tjarnstrom, Unibet’s Chief Executive, stated that the online revenues have partly been boosted by its sportsbook Kambi Sports Solutions. Unibet Poker has also had a year-on-year increase of 7% resulting in a total of £4.27 million gross winnings. The 1st quarter of the year saw a new poker lobby opened and in early April Fast Poker was released. It is speculated that both of these additions will yield even more growth as the year moves forward.

The company has been entering re-regulated markets and this move has paid off. Over 15% of Unibet Group PLC’s gross winnings revenue stemmed from these new markets. The company has recently been granted a license in Belgium and has acquired Bet 24, EurosportBet and Betchoice. Unibet Group PLC is now looking to continue the company’s expansion into markets outside of Europe.

Founded in 1997, Unibet is a privately owned gambling operator which offers its services in more than 100 countries and in over 25 languages.
