Zynga Set to Enter Real Money Gaming 24.12.2012

It’s looking like gambling fans are going to get to experience social gaming on Facebook for real money quite soon. As we reported last week, 888 Casino made a deal with the social networking site and now Zynga is preparing to release its first two real-money gaming applications on Facebook called “Casino For The People” and “Poker For The People” at the beginning of 2013. Although no official comment has been made about it, many in the industry believe the titles are meant to reinforce the social aspect that will be included.

The move into real money gaming is a big step for the company that is primarily known for selling virtual goods on Facebook. In October of 2012, Zynga and bwin.party announced a new partnership which created the mechanism to allow players to place real wagers. Casino For The People is expected to include a selection of 180 games including roulette, blackjack and slots. The Facebook app that helped make Zynga a household name, Farmville, is expected to be used as a theme for one of the slot games.

Zynga has launched sites for both applications and although they are viewable in the US, only users over the age of 18 in the UK will be able to play for real money. The company has taken a strong stance on operating only in markets where internet gambling is legal. Zynga is also looking to the future and has filed an Application for a Preliminary Finding of Suitability in Nevada where the market looks like it is on the verge to become legalized.

Roulette fans should be particularly excited about this news since it looks like there will now be two applications where they can play their favorite varieties of the game.
